GREY BULL RESCUE CELEBRATES 5 YEARS. 811 MISSIONS. 8,761 LIVES.
Different countries. Different threats. Different problems. SAME mission: Americans rescuing Americans.
5 years.
811 missions.
8,761 lives saved.
Five years ago, we did not have much of a plan… we had no money and no idea what the future would hold. We never thought we would still be conducting rescues five years later—and definitely not globally.
The U.S. military left, the embassy closed, Afghanistan collapsed, and the country fell to the Taliban almost overnight.
Bryan Stern was receiving call after call from Afghan friends begging for help. Afghan interpreters, SMW pilots, commandos, judges, and others who had stood beside Americans for 20 years of war were being hunted by the Taliban.
There was no Grey Bull Rescue. No organization. No playbook. Just a few SOF and Intelligence Community Veterans, and a few good Americans who believed there was a right thing to do... and weren’t willing to sit at home and watch.
So, they flew. This small—very small—group of patriots, led by Bryan, deployed to the region and put themselves into the problem to save lives. It started as three men on the Afghan border trying to rescue and evacuate our allies.
That decision to deploy became what is now Grey Bull Rescue.

The inspiring story of how Grey Bull Rescue started, the operations we’ve conducted, and the thousands of lives we’ve saved.
Americans rescue Americans.
That's the idea Grey Bull Rescue was built on—even before Grey Bull Rescue had a name.
Five years and 811 missions later, dozens of conflicts and natural disasters have only reinforced the need.
When an American is trapped in a war zone, held hostage, unlawfully detained overseas, isolated by a natural disaster, or stranded in a denied environment, Americans answer the call.
8,761 lives saved is no small calling. But 811 missions have also taught us something else:
We have to be ready before the phone rings.
There isn't time to learn, build a team, find an aircraft, establish communications, develop intelligence, identify routes, or find the resources to make it happen AFTER someone is already in trouble.
You have to be ready to GO. Now. Always.
For five years, that's what the team at Grey Bull Rescue—and the generous American patriots who support us—have built together: the ability to answer that call and save lives at the SPEED OF NEED. 8,761 of them…every one funded by patriots. Donors. Partners. Individuals. Businesses.
Your support allows Grey Bull Rescue to save lives at the SPEED OF NEED when time and options have run out. You can choose to live by our ethos, “Don’t be a spectator.”

COUNTRIES OPERATED IN
What began with Afghanistan has taken Grey Bull Rescue to Ukraine. Russia. Sudan. Haiti. Israel. Jordan. UAE. Syria. Gaza. Lebanon. Iran.
Hurricanes. Wildfires. Hostages. Denied environments. War Zones. Crises at home and around the world.
Newborn babies only days old. A 98-year-old on life support.
American families trapped in war. Americans unlawfully detained overseas. People surrounded by floodwater with nowhere else to turn.
Every age. Every background. Every religion. All Americans. Different crises. Same problem…in danger with no help coming.
But across 811 missions, there is a common thread:
THEY ARE OUR PEOPLE. AMERICANS.
And when our people need help, Americans rescue Americans.
YOU MADE 811 MISSIONS POSSIBLE.
Grey Bull Rescue is entirely donor-funded.
Behind every aircraft we put in the air, every vehicle we send across a border, every intelligence-led hostage rescue, every piece of communications equipment, and every operator we deploy is an American who decided to live our ethos: DON’T BE A SPECTATOR. They chose to act, not watch.
That's you.
Whether you've donated $5 or $5,000, supported one specific mission or believed in us from the beginning, you helped turn desperate phone calls and pleas for help into 8,761 lives rescued, evacuated, and saved.
Five years of Grey Bull Rescue is not simply our success. It's yours.
Thank you for giving us the ability to move when others can't and help those that no one would help.... and save lives at the SPEED OF NEED.
5 years down.
Fund the next 5.
Americans and our allies increasingly live, work, travel, invest, and serve in regions affected by conflict, geopolitical instability, disaster, infrastructure failure, and rapidly changing security conditions.
Places historically insulated from conflict are increasingly becoming prime targets. Wars cross borders. Political conditions change overnight. Infrastructure fails. Missiles and drones fly, and airspace closes. And large-scale natural disasters strike often without warning.
There is no reason to believe the next five years will be safer or calmer than the last five. In fact, we are busier than we have ever been.
We don't know where the next mission will happen. We don't know what the next threat will be. We don't know who will be on the other end of the phone.
But we do know there will for sure be another call. And we need to be ready before it comes./
You can choose to watch, or you can choose to act.

“There is a straight line in my life from the morning of September 11, 2001, to that phone call in August 2021, to what Grey Bull Rescue does today:
WE DON'T LEAVE OUR PEOPLE BEHIND.
That's why I answered the phone. That's why we got on the plane. And five years later, it's still why we get on the plane.”
